Hot Tubs used to be something that only the wealthy enjoyed. It was something lavish to have a hot tub and they were usually in-ground. Technically, our Jacuzzi Hot Tubs are portable hot tubs and they are priced so that everyone can enjoy them. Buying a Jacuzzi Hot Tub isn’t something you’ll have to remortgage your house for, and, you can take it with you if you decide to move. If you’re thinking about purchasing a hot tub, here’s a list of differences between the in-ground style and the portable hot tub.
Portable or Permanent – Pros and Cons
1) Versatility: If you choose an in-ground hot tub it stays where you put it. In-ground hot tubs can come in a variety of shapes and sizes though whereas portable hot tubs are either typically round or square. In-ground hot tubs will require a separate location for all its equipment and pump. Portable hot tubs can be sunken into the ground, built into a deck, or just hang out above ground. Their equipment is built right into the tub so you don’t need a separate location to house it.
2) Hydrotherapy and Massage: In-ground hot tubs use basic and standard jets and jet placement. The jets are typical all the same size and don’t have any pressure control. J-LX Collection – Jacuzzi Hot Tub Portable hot tubs can offer highly specialized and specifically placed jets in a fiberglass or acrylic body that can accommodate just about any shape or size of the person. It is almost as though portable hot tubs were designed with how to massage properly in mind!
3) Ease of Maintenance: In-ground hot tubs are essentially the same as portable hot tubs when it comes to balancing the PH and chemicals in the water. They can, however, be more difficult to clean depending on what material they are made out of. Cement and other materials used for in-ground hot tubs tend to be porous (scratchy on swimsuits) and more difficult to clean than the acrylic shells of portable tubs. Portable hot tubs have a quick drain feature if, and when, you need to drain your hot tub. They are often sold with a cover as well to help keep the water cleaner longer (as well as to help regulate temperature).
